I dunno. What with the story about the French parents a few days ago... how can parents like this sleep at night?
There was a program on TV last week about a young girl who was raped by her father when ten years old. He kept on raping her as a teenager, and even married her. She of course didn't know what was going on.
Eventually she got the courage to go to the police and he was sent down for 12 years. She was over 30 years old by then.
Presumably the father in this UK case has been able to come up with a defence that makes juries question the woman's account of what went on in her home when she was a child. Presumably she has little evidence, just a broken heart and distended uterus - I once knew a woman who was repeatedly raped by her school teacher when eight or nine years old. She can't have children because her womb is a mess.
